Who we are
The IPPD - Institute for Pharmaceutical Process Development was founded 2024 by Dr. Martin Bultmann.
Well educated scientists are paramount for our future progress; not just in academic science, but also in industry. Therefore, we are devoted to education.
Our main purpose is to educate students in and around the field of Pharmaceutical Process Development. Starting with Terminology, over the basics of dosage form preparation and development via Maths and Statistics, QbD, DoE, LSS, GMP basics, solid and liquid process development up to cleaning validation and plant design.
One special focus is on the development of the parenteral fill finish processing steps.
Not not only scientific knowledge and excellent research make up good scientists, but it is also neccesary that they can communicate the outcome of their excellent research equally to peers, laymen and young scientists, motivate and inspire them.
The IPPD also covers soft skill training, coaching and mentoring and sees itself as an institution, which provides continuous learning and specialized training for graduate students and post graduates.
As such the IPPD currently operates on a non for profit basis.

Future expansion
Currently we only work on a non for profit basis with institutions, foundations or pharmaceutical societies. In the future (probably sometime in 2025) we will add professional commercial services for other companies. Please be patient and excited as we are about the services to come.
If you are already interested in our future services, please feel free to browse the menu, learn more and already get in contact with us. We're happy to hear from you already and will let you know as soon as our commercial business goes live.
Consulting services for the Pharmaceutical Industry
This is presently not in our scope, but future "for profit" extension of the IPPD will include a variety of services around Process Development with special focus on Parenteral Fill-Finish Processes, Troubleshoting, and dedicated Teaching.
Training, Mentoring, Coaching
We offer hard and soft skill training sessions for selected students, at workshops e.g. by Galenus Foundation or conferences like DPhG Jahrestagung, CRS German chapter meeting etc. on special request. No matter whether you prefer individual training or classroom training, remote or live, at your site, off site or anywhere else - all options are available. Get in contact with us and we can tailor training to your specific needs.
Scientific training
Our scientific program comprises LSS: Lean principles, Quality by Design (QbD), Design of Experiments (DOE), Minitab training, basic and advanced statistics, Learning how to troubleshoot, and OpenScad training for beginners and advaced users.
Soft Skills
For soft skill training there are a number of courses like Working in international teams / intercultural training, Successful Teamwork, Communication, and Management focused Presenting.
Mentoring
At times the IPPD offers Mentoring sessions (approx. six session of 1h each) for the Poster or Presentation Award Winners of the above mentioned venues. Such mentoring is intended for PhD students close to the end of their thesis, who are anticipating a career in pharmaceutical industry.
