About the IPPD
Martin Bultmann has always been devoted to high quality education of young scientists. What started in 2024 as complimentary lecturing on Pharmaceutical Processes, soft- and hard skill training and through one or the other workshop, venues or lectures at Universities materialized in September 2026: He founded the IPPD - Institute for Pharmaceutical Process Development GmbH.
For pharmaceutical companies large and small we provide parenteral process development as a service, plus training on parenteral process development as well as troubleshooting service.
The IPPD also keeps close ties with Universities: Lectures, workshops, hard- and soft skill trainings are offered and we do research work around fill-finish unit operations and modelling. Of course, all of the above is available for companies large and small, was well.

About the founder
Dr. J. M. Bultmann
Dr. Martin Bultmann is a pharmacist by training and engineer by heart. He studied Pharmacy at the University of Bonn and finished his doctoral thesis "Knowledge based development of tablets out of granules" at the University of Heidelberg. After his thesis he decided to stay "a little longer" (yes, it turned out to be eight additional years) and continue beloved teaching and research on solid dosage forms - namely Roller Compaction, Knowledge based systems and Neural Nets, before he switched over to the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Due to his various well established contacts, he decided to take the role of section head for solid dosage form development at former Abbott in Ludwigshafen.
In 2013 Abbott split into two companies and Dr. Bultmann stayed with the research and development focused part of the company, which assumed the name AbbVie. In the same year he became the head of Parenteral Pilot Plants that manufactured all the supplies for the clinical trials under GMP.
In 2017 Martin Bultmann got the opportunity to concentrate on the machine specific aspects of the fill finish process and became the head of the Ludwigshafen Process Engineering Sciences group for New Biological Entities (NBEs). Besides the development of novel, mainly first principle based in silico modelling approaches he also became the highly recognized expert for troubleshooting of fill finish processes.
Despite all the industrial work, he never lost his dedication for teaching and as highly sought after speaker he was and still is giving guest seminars, workshops as well as whole seminar and lecture series (e.g. as stand in for other professors in their maternity leave) at various national and international Universities on a continuous basis throughout the years. He is also the author of Pharmaceutical Textbooks (Terminology, Basics of Drug Product Manufacturing, Maths and Statistics).
He is also the creator of the 
Fergera - Helmsman principle, that builds on exemplary leading/guiding followed by training for independent take over of activities.
Throughout his whole career, Dr. Bultmann aquired various scientific as well as soft skills, he is happy to share with you and your employees.
