Minor complications are generally referred to as issues; those cases, that arise, but you're happily willing to deal with. An then there are the socalled "problems": The Lord V... immensely huge obstacles nobody wants to call by their name or even deal with - or tried to deal with and has given up.
When the unexpected happens, the difficulties set in, since these often turn out to be real problems. And then you're in trouble; mostly not as single contributor but as functional area, department or organization.
This is where our troubleshooting sets in.
Some thoughs around troubleshooting
Blood, sweat and tears
There are not many textbooks around on troubleshooting (if you know of a really good one, please let me know).
This might seem like a surprise, but it is hard to learn troubleshooting just from theory aka textbooks.
Troubleshooting is the combination of some fundamentals, a mindset, a certain analytical skillset and a lot of practical(!) experience.
The latter means having spent hours and hours at, in, under and sometimes inside machines. I remember sitting on to of a two story high Lyophilizator
at midnight serching (an finally finding) the root cause for a not closing "pizza door".
Troubleshooting experience means time pressure, striving for downtime minimization, a sense of responsibility, long hours, nightshifts,
international flights on short notice, blood, sweat and tears, greasy fingers, (mental) cursing and educated decision making. Starting there where others already surrendered.
But it also comprises the big relief once the root cause is found, mitigation options laid out and a path forward shown.

But how to troubleshoot?
You can't get that from a textbook.
